Ayurveda, the science of life has its roots in Vedas and considered by many that Ayurveda is an Upanga of Atharvan veda. As you all know that it is the most comprehensive and scientific traditional medical systems of India. There is a growing trend towards Ayurveda and many people of India and abroad are attracted towards Ayurveda due to its safe and effective remedies.

The Indian Institute of Research in Yoga and Allied Sciences was established in 1975 in Tirupati. Looking into clinical research and treatment for the epidemic disease of local area and by the constant demand by local people, T.T.Devasthanams resolved to establish and full fledged Ayurvedic institution, as TTD is a spiritual organization and has an objective of protecting and propagating Vedic Sciences, S.V.Ayurvedic College was established in the year 1983 to impart Ayurvedic traditional medical training to the qualified students on merit basis (NEET) and also to render free Ayurvedic medical services to the needy and poor. The first batch students were passed from the institute on 1988, so far 36 batches of undergraduate students have passed out. In 2009-2010 Postgraduate courses wer started in 6 PG departments and 11 batches of scholars have passed out. Of them many are working in different esteemed institutions all over world and occupying different lead positions in Government and private organizations.

The institute has well qualified teachers graduated from various Prestigious institutes of India. 

The teaching hospital is well equipped and rendering free service to more than 100000 patients in an year. Various challenging diseases are being treated free of cost and research work is being taken up for the better treatment patterns. 

It has an attached Pharmacy, Shri Srinivasa Ayurveda Pharmacy, established at Srinivasa Mangapuram, Tirupati. It produces around 300 time tested Ayurvedic Medicines, catering the needs of the SV Ayurvedic hospital. Recently TTD has launched few products for the sale, to facilitate the patients to get better medicines in an affordable price.
